Tips to be stay aware and stay safe


  • LOOK UP! Put your cell phone away and pay attention to your surroundings at all times.

  • WALK WITH PURPOSE! Bad guys are looking for victims, not prepared and capable individuals.

  • LISTEN TO YOUR GUT! You are feeling uneasy for a reason, respect that feeling and take action.

  • KEEP YOUR PHONE CHARGED. Cell phones can be a great tool for self defense, from calling for help to showing your family your current location. If your phone is dead it’s an expensive paper weight and it won’t help you when you need it.

  • NO ONE has the right to invade your personal space without permission, be extremely clear and direct with your boundries to anyone who might attempt to get too close. Good guys will never push back on your demand for space.

  • WATCH YOUR DRINKS! Bad guys are good at slipping drugs that could debilitate you into drinks.

  • If you have a flat tire in a bad or unfamiliar area, drive on the rims until you find a safe place to stop.

  • Never let a stranger in your home until you have called the company to check their creditials.

  • If you are a female that lives alone put an old pair of men’s workboots just outside your door. It sends the message a male will be here to defend the premises.

  • Don’t die for your money. Give up your wallet in a robbery, it’s not worth your life.

  • Don’t accept help when offered by a stranger, seek out assitance on your own. Bad guys often offer to help intended victims to get them to let their guard down.

  • Always park in well lit areas if you must go out at night.

  • Never walk or jog alone after dark and limit yourself to only using one earbud no matter when you go.

  • Keep your keys by your nightstand. If you’re in danger, hit the panic button.

  • Set the home address on your GPS to an address near your home, not your actual address.

  • Be careful what information you share on social media. Specifically, do not publicly post check-ins or other things that give specific times and locations as to your whereabouts.

  • Cameras are recording everywhere. Block peoples view of your hand when entering alarm codes, PIN numbers, etc.

  • STAY VIGILANT AND ALERT. Being safe is a constant state of mind and set of good habits.
